The Bobbitor is our newest winding machine. It is actually a modified 900M Toroid winding machine which was designed for winding toroidal coils.

We utilized the traverse mechanism from our Star Winder bobbin winder and mounted it where the standard core rotator assembly mounts.

The Bobbitor machine can perform linear winding functions on closed rectangular cores or on straight u shaped cores which cannot be rotated.

The Shuttle allows the wire to be wound around the core just as if it was a toroidal core but the motion of the core is linear not rotational.

Some open ended u shaped cores can be wound with fly winder type machines but if the core is completely closed then the only way to wind wire around the core is either by hand or with a mechanism adapted specifically like what we have done with the Bobbitor machine.

We know of only one other Company that makes a machine that can do what the Bobbitor can do but the core is moved manually not automatically like our version.

If need be, with a few modifications, the Bobbitor can be converted back to the standard 900M model for winding standard toroidal cores.
